External Stairs – Client Case Study

The existing staircase was rotten and therefore was structurally unsafe
Original Configuration of the entry stairs was not working for the client so a new design was considered to improve accessibility
Why We re-configured the front stairs was because to create more usable space in the front yard
All new hardwood stringers and wider treads were used to enable better access than before
Balustrading was fitted to match rear handrail in order to give cohesiveness from front to back of house
Completed stairs tucked in against the house works well, because it allows closer access to driveway and opening up of front yard
A glass panel was inserted on the top landing, the reason was so as not to impede the view from the kitchen counter outside to the garden
