Bathroom Reno – Client Case Study

The original Terrazzo floor was polished and re-sealed to keep in character with the house
New tiles to toilet walls and a new toilet was fitted also
Walls sheeted and set
Waterproofing to wet areas to AS code are crucial to any bathroom reno!
New recessed bath fitted and wall framing checked for straight so there are no bows and bumps in the wall
Trims fitted so were ready to paint.
Existing enamel bath replaced by a modern acrylic bath
Old shower rail and curtain replaced by glass screen
Existing toilet removed for floor sealing and tiling
We completely gutted the bathroom which helped to access the wall cavity, to provide noggings for fixtures and fittings in the wall.
Asbestos removal was necessary first though, by a licensed contractor to remove hazardous wall linings and ceiling.
Fitted new 750mm floor standing vanity and so therefore a 750mm recessed wall cabinet to match was fitted.
We also replaced the shower curtain with a pivot bath screen
Bathroom taps were replaced with a similar style to match the character of the home.
Materials used: Wall framing, Villaboard, waterproofing, frameless glass, tiles and trims.
Trades: Carpenter, Asbestos removal, Electrician, Plumber, Plasterer, Waterproofer, Terrazzo Floor specialist, Painter and tiler.
