See the progress shots below for a pergola we completed recently in Brisbane’s suburb of Kedron.
The owner wanted a structure to screen the neighbouring house and also provide some shade from the sun.
By using steel posts it enabled us to keep the structure minimilistic, strong and low maintenance
Also the posts were cast in the ground and secured to the existing fence which helped hold the structure firm and rigid
Aluminium slats were used because of their lightweight and strong spanning capabilities and concealed fixing method
By using steel and aluminium products as opposed to timber the life span and durability of the pergola was increased and the maintenance reduced to almost nothing. The owners can rest assured their new structure will last for many years to come
The black screens provide a contrasting backdrop to the trees and a modern, slick look which creates an inviting space to hang out
We built screens to give privacy from the neighbours, but at the same time also allow airflow and light through. We achieved this by using low maintenance slats and narrow gaps between them
As a result the new structure created a space to sit and relax also
